 For Autistic Adults (18+) |  Tech Wave 2026 will bring together national and state experts to discuss assistive technology, person-centered planning and assessment, remote supports, accessible services, and other ways technology is changing disability services. |  Families are invited to the 29th Annual Kids’ Day on Wednesday, August 19, from 4:05–6:00 p.m. at the Cross High School Gymnasium. This free community event will include exhibits, medical screenings, family training and resources, food and drinks, giveaways, door prizes, and military and college recruiters. Everyone is welcome, and all activities are free. |

 THE REGION’S PREMIER EVENT CONNECTING FAMILIES WITH RESOURCES FOR THE LIFESPAN OF DISABILITY. |  South Carolina Partners in Policymaking® is a leadership training program for adults with disabilities and parents of young children with disabilities who want to strengthen their advocacy skills. Participants attend five two-day sessions in Columbia and receive training on local, state, and national disability issues. Travel reimbursement, meals, lodging for eligible participants, attendant support, and respite reimbursement may be available. Applications are due September 4. |  They Matter Too Autism Foundation invites families to a free brunch-style workshop focused on helping parents and caregivers better understand and navigate the IEP process.  Each month the museum hosts a special morning designed for families of children, teenagers, young adults and adults who would benefit from a quieter, sensory-friendly and disability-adapted experience. Guests who are neurodiverse, autistic, or have other disabilities are welcome to participate in the activities such as open explorations of museum galleries, meet and greets, sensory shows, ASL interpreter services, sensory room, and more! Participants will complete a brief screening and, if eligible, a 20–30 minute online survey. |
 The University of South Carolina’s Neurodevelopmental Disorders Lab is recruiting infants 12 months old or younger for a study on early development. Eligible infants must have an older full biological sibling and either have a sibling with autism or no immediate family history of autism. Participation includes five in-home assessments between 6 and 36 months of age, with compensation of up to $150.  The Blue Envelope Project is a grassroots effort to improve safety and communication between law enforcement and Autistic drivers in South Carolina.
