Community Impact at The Arc of South Carolina

At The Arc of South Carolina, we empower individuals through diverse community engagement, vividly captured in our photo gallery featured below. Our 9/11 Day of Service teaches safety and emergency preparedness, while our partnership with the University of South Carolina Best Buddies brings joy through activities like pumpkin painting, friendship walks, and other exciting events. We also take part in sensory-friendly nights at Columbia Fireflies games, further enhancing community engagement. On Disability Advocacy Day, we advocate for rights at the state capitol, and through our ALERT program, we enhance lives with targeted training. Events like the MLK Day of Service and the Limitless Purpose Family Celebration showcase our commitment to inclusion and community unity. Our Wings for All events prepare families for air travel, and the Akoma Cares Neurodiversity Among Us Event celebrates diverse ways of thinking. Sensory Nights at EdVenture Children's Museum and the Disability Celebration Event at the South Carolina State Museum further highlight our efforts to ensure accessibility and celebrate achievements. These activities are just a few of the many ways we are making a difference in the community, fostering inclusion and empowering individuals every day.

Your support helps us continue these programs, advocating for equality and the well-being of our community. Join us in making a difference!

Support The Arc of South Carolina's Vision for a New Community Hub!

We at The Arc of South Carolina are thrilled to announce plans for a new facility that will not just house our offices but will also embody a vibrant community center. This space is envisioned as a welcoming clubhouse for both our clients and our collaborative partners, right next to our new headquarters on Corley Mill Road in Lexington.

Our former base in Cayce was a rented space that became unsuitable due to its deteriorating condition. This new chapter provides us with the perfect opportunity to create a centrally located, accessible hub that will enhance family connections and foster collaborations with like-minded organizations.

In South Carolina, there is a pressing need for more community engagement and access to skill-building for independent living, especially for adults with special needs. The Arc of South Carolina is committed to spearheading positive change for these individuals and their families.

Your contribution now is more important than ever to help bring this vital project to life. Join us in making a difference!
